The first-ever Heritage Award, designated for properties of distinct merit based on the historical significance in combination with architectural preservation, will be presented to recipient Susan Cort, owner of 114 Java. This property was originally built for Harry Herr, Mr. Hershey’s civil engineer, who helped him to devise a model town and the inception of the Hershey trolley system. The home embodies a striking combination of Tudor and brick elements, and is distinguished by the classicallystylized stone balustrade, the same as the Mediterranean Revival duplexes on Java.
