*** 2012 Preservation Award Winner ***
This limestone home was built circa 1915, and is documented as still being owned by M.S. Hershey in 1919, according to the Derry Township tax rcords. The first owner, W.R. Espenshade, purchased the home from M.S. Hershey in 1922;
Today the home stands as a testament to the early industrial-driven architectural legacy established by the prospering chocolate corporation, which built many of the homes in this neighborhood for its executives and management. As with the Phillippy home, the Rung residence represents preservation in its most wholesome form.
